Updating Your Profile Information

Your "My Account" page is the central hub for keeping your personal information up to date. This guide explains how to edit your profile, manage your subscription and billing, and handle important security settings like your recovery key.


📝 Updating Your Profile Information

Your email and phone number can be updated at any time. Your name, however, is locked after your identity is verified to maintain security.

To update your editable details, navigate to the My Account page from the user menu. The process involves the following steps:

  1. In the "My User Profile" section, locate the Email Address or Phone Number fields.
  2. Enter your new information into the desired field. The Phone Number field is optional and can be left empty.
  3. Click the Update Details button to save your changes.

You can also find your unique My User ID at the top of this section. This ID can be shared with other professionals who wish to delegate a seal to you.


📝 Managing Your Subscription

The "Subscription" section allows you to manage your plan and access billing details.

Your options will vary based on your current subscription status:

  • If you have an active subscription: Click the Manage Billing & Invoices button. You will be redirected to a secure portal where you can update your payment method, view your billing history, and download invoices.
  • If you do not have an active subscription: Click the Subscribe Now button to be taken to a secure checkout page where you can start a new subscription.

📝 Generating a New Recovery Key

If you lose your recovery key or believe it has been compromised, you should generate a new one immediately. This is a critical security action.

To generate a new key:

  1. Scroll to the "Recovery Key" section at the bottom of the My Account page.
  2. Click the red Generate New Recovery Key button.
  3. A confirmation window will appear, warning you that this action cannot be undone.
  4. To proceed, click Yes, Generate New Key. Your old key will be permanently invalidated, and a new one will be issued.

📧 Notifications

The platform provides on-screen feedback for your actions.

  • When you click Update Details, a notification will appear at the top of the screen to confirm that the changes were saved successfully or to inform you of an error.
  • If your session has expired while you are on the page, you will be notified and automatically redirected to the login page after a few seconds.

🔒 Security and Data Privacy

Your account's security is paramount. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Public Contact Information: Your email and phone number from this profile can be displayed on the verification page for a specific seal code, but only if you enable the "Show my contact information" option during code generation. If this is disabled, verifiers can still contact you through a privacy-preserving form. You can toggle this visibility setting for each code at any time from the "My Codes" dashboard.
  • Identity Verification: You must complete identity verification before you are able to claim seals or generate seal codes. If your identity is not yet verified, a button to start the process will be prominently displayed on this page.
  • Best Practices: Always store your Recovery Key in a safe and secure location separate from your account password, such as in a trusted password manager or a physical safe.

🛑 Important Limitations

To protect account integrity and security, please be aware of the following:

  • For security purposes, your First Name and Last Name are locked after your identity has been successfully verified. To request a name change, you must contact support.
  • Generating a new recovery key is a permanent and irreversible action. Once you confirm, your old key becomes instantly and permanently useless.
