Delegating Your Seals
Delegating your seals allows you to grant trusted individuals the ability to generate seal codes on your behalf. This feature is designed to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining personal and statutory security and integrity of your professional credentials.
How to Add a Delegate
To grant access to another user, you will need their unique User ID. The person you wish to add must have their own VerifyThisSeal.com account and can find their User ID on their My Account page.
- Navigate to the My Seals page.
- Find the seal you wish to delegate and select the "Manage Delegates" option.
- In the input field provided, enter the User ID of the person you are authorizing.
- Click the "Add Delegate" button to confirm.
Managing Your Delegates
Once a delegate has been added, they will appear in a list on the "Manage Delegates" screen. For your confirmation and security, the system will display the first and last name associated with the User ID you entered.
Activating and Deactivating Access
Next to each delegate's name is an access toggle. You can enable or disable their ability to generate seal codes at any time.
- Active: The delegate can generate seal codes for your seal.
- Inactive: The delegate cannot generate seal codes.
Please note: For historical tracking and platform integrity, delegates cannot be deleted from your list. Deactivating their access is the correct way to revoke permissions.
Notifications
To ensure all parties are aware of account activity, the system automatically sends email notifications. The delegate will be notified via email when:
- They are first added as a delegate.
- Their access is enabled by you.
- Their access is disabled by you.
Important Information for Delegates
If a seal owner has designated you as a delegate, there are a few key things you need to know.
Identity Verification is Required: For the protection of our platform and the professionals who use it, you must complete your own identity verification process before you are able to generate seal codes on behalf of another user. You will be prompted to do this if you have not already done so.
Receiving Notifications: You will always receive an email when an owner grants you delegate access or changes the status of your access.
